well, maybe not but here is a sample of what Anne and I have building. We built the deck, added metal to the fence, made the pathway, and created the coolest railing with rolling windows that will later be frosted or stained. More to come! stay tuned...

Know wonder it gets bad reviews.

The result? Everybody lost. The New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission was too cowardly to render a verdict and never reviewed the case. The building was turned over to the Museum of Arts and Design, which gutted it to make room for new galleries and stripped away its white marble exterior. 

Its mild, overly polite renovation offers us nothing breathtakingly new.

Shattuck's new look

I must say... Shattuck's upgrade is quite impressive. The offices are amazing with the swivel wall/doors.. and the studios look great accented with the movable pin-up boards and the glass accents. Wish I would have taken my camera.. but I will get some pics next week.

This house is actually just outside of Portland on Hwy 30. I think there may be an old Victorian under all of those additions, somewhere. I can't decide if I want to live here or fire-bomb it.

So I'm headed for Portland at the end of the month and I am loathe to leave my tools behind. Has anyone ever heard of a community shop space or short term shop rental? I'd like to be able to do a little wood working now and then but no longer have the space (my basement) to do it in. Nor can I really afford to rent a full shop out on a monthly basis. Any suggestions would be met with gracious contributions of beer on my part.
